This theory is based on Future and past seeing abilities of Desmond, Mikhail and Smoky/Jacob, maybe not time travel after all! by MrAlpert. You may wish to read it before continuing.
Going on from my last theory, which you really need to read before reading this.
Virtually every future flash of Desmonds has involved flashing lights (e.g. Red Beacon, yellow light, Lightning).
If Jacob is also having future visions it would explain how he knew about the possibility of others joining the island or the possiblity of the losties leaving as there is a Flashing Sat phone.
It could explain Mikhails actions as he would have seen the station blowing up and then himself being killed so hence he set the fence to stun.
Just coincidence?

I like the direction that you are thinking. I my post “jumpin jack flashes” I theorized that this is most likely a widespread island phenomenon. I think that Jack also experienced the flashes potentially the same as Desmonds. The likelyhood of Mikhail experiencing the flashes is highly likely. I have also wrote about Ben experiencing the flashes as well. It makes sense for Ben to be able to foresee future events because he certainly seems to know how certain things will play out. I would explain his ability to be one step ahead of things.
Ben does seem to know what is happening but maybe he is losing his powers - Didn’t see the tumour coming did he and he looked kinda worried but I guess his tumour wouldn’t have a flashing light - lol
