The Island
The Island could be Mu. Mu is suppoused to be the first continent where humans gave their first step. According to the Naacal tablets Mu’s first inhabitants had supernatural habilities and extremely long life which incidently matches with the Bible Genises (Matusalem / Richard) . The only difference is that the Naacals tablets have more the 15000 years old. Let’s skip to the apocalytpic end of Mu according to the oral history and Naacal tablets. It seems that a cataclismic event both electo-magnetic and sismic divided the continent in several smaller islands (Hawai, Fiji, Pascoa, and other pacific islands) and then that the major chunk of the continent was “submerged” that is what scientists say. In the oral tradition of some tribes around that region is said that this major chunk of Mu now resides in paralel plane which can be accessed going to specific electromagnetic points under the see in the region. Well the stories about Mu are way longer and complexier then that but you get an idea.
Coincidently there are stories of Hitler going to a hidden “city” under the see using a submarine during the WWII.
Probably the writers are using or have used these stories as inspiration at some point. That’s why the submarine, the statue and the so called temples mentioned by Ben that we are still to see.
In the flashbacks of Jack (the one about his tatoo) the girl says “there are things here that you couldn’t understand” same phrase was repeated to Kate later on already on the lost island by Mikail Bakunin. Why is that you say, ok there is another theory, story, legend whatever you wanna call it, it says that Earth has 12 geodesic points distributed along the globe with especial electro-magnetic properties, some weaker and others way stronger, being the stronger ones hidden places due to it’s electro-magnetic fluctuations. Stories among the locals on these regions tell about hidden cities that show up out of nowhere and then disappear.
In Lost the phucket island that Jack was would be one, Australian desert where the dentist took his wife to be cured was another one. The guy who was suppoused to cure his wife confirms that saying “this isn’t the right place for you, not the right energy, this doesn’t mean that there isn’t one for you”
Another insteresting thing is Jack’s tatoo and his story about his first operation. They both have the number 5. In the story Jack counts up to 5 to regain his calm, and his tatoo has (if I’m not mistaken a number five in the middle). The number 5 has an ocult meaning both in Naga and Mayan languages, which is “From where they came” which implies GOD, there are also sun shines surrounding it which is an old symbol from Mu’s (Mayax cultures as other cultures like Egiptian) that it’s read as “Son of the Sun” translating as leader, chief of the Empire of the Sun, Mu. Jack in the Island is an leader, and counting up to five he would regain his calm because he then connecting to god. I bit crazy but Lost is crazy.

I like the way you’re thinking
very cool
hmmmm…..
I have read another theory about Mu and find it very interesting. This definitely has something to do with the ancient cultural aspects of “the island” and I’m sure we will learn more about those aspects in the next season. Nice find about Jack’s tattoo!
Way out–-as a matter of fact too far out! TPTB have said the conclusion(s) would be based on rational science which could include some form of time-space continuum aspect. The “Lost World of Mu” is not one of them.

First of all there is not a single theoretical science that is rational, and second “time-space continuum” is just another theory as any other, no one can prove it or even experience it.
Mine at least is based on archeology studies and references found on several civilizations around the globe (Maya’s, Egitians, Greeks, etc) people simply don’t take it serious because it would disrupt with another theory created by a very respected monkey called Darwin.
What you call rational science explain only a tiny part of the puzzle, and that certainly doesn’t includes four toe statues, people that don’t get old, cure of cancer, people on wheel chairs that simply get up and walk, invisible persons, black smokes that think, etc.
Oh and I do read a bit about physics, quantum physics, string theory, science in general and of course arqueological studies. And nothing in Lost is black and white, rational or proven fact if you don’t look at it as a fictional or theoretical thing you’re dommed.
Mu is mentioned or have reference to it on severall books and inscription all over the world, Manava Dharma Sastra, Book 2, Rig Veda, book 3, Genesis, Codex Cortesianus, Troan manuscript, Lhassa document, Plato, Ramayanna, book of the deads just to mention a few of them. The records go over 15000 years old. Since the hadn’t internet 15000 years ago I rather believe in that then in theories created by people tha can’t explain why I can’t fly.
Cheers!
