was the oringinal reason why hurley was in the mental institution was because he stepped out on a deck and killed people and then he stopped everything except eating? i know, its not a theory, but i was just wondering. please tell me if i was right or wrong 8-)

That’s pretty muich how I understood it. He blamed himself for the deck to collapse because he was so heavy, so he fell into deep depression and kept eating even more….
Yep…that’s what I understood….Libby being there though…..weird.
maybe the real reason he is there is because people find him alone on the island ranting about what went on. since no one was alive they just thought he was crazy and took him to the hospital. but then why would libby be there? i dont know… never mind
o ok. thanks. i think libby was there because she said her husband, david, died. so she got depressed. and i think dave, who hurley sees, is her husband

I don’t think that’s why she’s in the psych ward because in one of Desmond’s flashbacks, he meets Libby at a coffee shop or something. She’s completely fine and gives Desmond the boat he crashed on the island with. She says that the boat was her husband’s. Therefore, I don’t think she’s in the ward because of her husband’s death.
maybe when she saw desmend, she was over the whole thing about her husbands death, so she was fine to talk about it.
