the security device is under the control of Ben

— tharde5

Well just maybe he has done this many times before. I was thinking that the island brings new subjects to the island intentionally. We certainly have theorized in many different ways why the survivors were brought there and many believe it wasn’t just a random coincidence.

Our current survivors have many intertwined events in their previous existence while in the real world.

Whats to say that the people who would come ashore from the ship (freighter) wouldnt be the next “wave” of suvivors. Do we really think that the arrival will be peaceful.and easy? After all that we have witnessed, as to the difficulties of getting onto the island, that this ship is simply going to pull up to shore and drop anchor and just wisk off all of our 815ers? I hardly doubt that this would happen?

So now that the ship has a fix on the SAT phone how will they get in? I think that whatever is hiding the island is more than just a cloaking device. It has been my opinion all along that the security device that hides the island, is the same device that we have come to know as the Smoke Monster. This device is responsible for security right? Well what better way to keep the island secure than to hide the island from peering eyes. To disrupt the magnetic steering devices used for navigation. To rid the island from anything that threatens the islands well being. Isnt that really what a real security device would do.

So if in fact the security device is under the control of Ben or is working in conjunction with the Ben/Others group, what threat would Ben feel? None.

I believe that the Ace up Bens sleeve is the security device that protects the island. This would make perfect sense to me as to why Ben is so smug and unafraid of threats. If in fact Ben holds this ‘Ace’ then no matter what- - he knows that these little inconveniences are simply necessary issues that he has to deal with, and he probably is expecting the ship to arrive. Because he has had to deal with this before.

    thats quite confusing, but possible

Well, that’s a good point, tharde. So far everyone who has come to the island has stepped right into a trap. Why should Naomi’s comrades be any different? Perhaps Jack and Kate eventually do get off the island, but we may be far from knowing how that happens.

I believe that you have a point, but I think that a new crash landing(the ship) might be on the horizon, early next season.

I just kept thinking how Ben told Juliet that “We’ll just have to get more” when she told him that all the test subjects on the island were dying. He said it so matter of factly, like it wouldnt be any problem to secure ‘new’ subjects.

And perhaps each wave of immigrants is destined to be the enemy of the previous wave.

Yes, I’m not so sure I actually said that but that is what I believe will happen. A new ‘set’ of people will arrive and new conflicts will begin, I’m thinking that the 815er might band together with Ben to battle against Naomi’s gang. It just makes me think that this is a repeating cycle that we are about to witness.
