Ben told us how Naomi was not their way off the island. The “Bad People” want to come to kill every living thing off.

Simple. Jack, Kate, Locke all got off the island. They made a deal with the Bad People to get them and only them off. That is why Jack feels so bad and wants to go back to the island. When he attempted to talk to Kate she said “He will get suspicious im here.” I think that the Bad People are still controling Jack and Kate by not letting them talk about the island.

The funeral I believe was Locke’s. He was neither friend or family to Jack and think about it no one off the island knows or even is friends with Locke. No one showed up at the Funeral.

The “Bad People” could also be Darhma. MIkhal said He thought the girls were based is canada. MOre Darhma.

To sum it all up, not everyone got off the island only the few I mentioned their may be one or two more but I think the majority were all killed by or died at war with the “Bad People.”

Interesting, but my question is why the two women in the looking glass where thought to have been stationed in canada. And all the darma on the island where killed in the islands “purging” so I dont believe the two wemon where darhma.

Well first- off, It was not John Lockes funeral, the newspaper clipping had a name that started with a J and a last name with antam in it. Secondly I think the “bad people” are indeed part of the Dharma initiative, but obviously not the ones who were on the island, they are very upset with Ben and the rest of the others after the purge and i believe they have been tryin to find the island again ever since. The Losties are going to be caught in the middle of a big war between the ‘bad ppl’ and the others, which they will have to choose a side in, sealing their fate on or off the island.

How are you sure that was a name

  5. Atheose May 24, 2007 8:51 a.m. Comment: 5

Maybe when Locke got off the island he got married and took the woman’s last name, like “John Dantam” or something.

It’s not terribly unrealistic, especially now that his dad is dead—he can finally move on. I still think the person in the coffin was Ben.

The name in the clipping was a by-line… not the name of the dead person.

There’s one problem with your theory. The second last Jack “flashback” which we realize now were all taking place in the future, the chief of staff at the hospital asks Jack if he was drunk. Jack replies “go upstairs and see if my father is drunk …” wont finish all of it. This means that in the future Jack’s dad is alive. Either Jack’s father never died, which it seems pretty obvious that he actually did, or the plot line somehow revolves around time travel or something time related. I would assume Jack’s alcoholism is a result of his guilt over doing something far more catastrophic than leaving some people back on the island.

I think Jack was being sarcastic when he referred to his father, and that the writers put this line in to keep people thinking that it was a flash-back.

It’s like if someone said “Terrorism has never happened in America,” and I replied, “Ask the people on the 71st floor of the World Trade Center if terrorism has never happened.” Same sort of sarcasm, used all the time.

Remember Jack also had a prescription filled out by his dad. Could be explained by forgery, but I’m not thinking that will end up being the case.

Jack’s dad is not alive in the flash-forward. We hear he is alive but never see him alive just as we hear that Jin, Sayid, and Bernard are dead but never see them dead. When it’s a question of life or death, when have the producers ever informed us of something without showing it to us? Did we just hear that Boone, or Shannon, or Charlie died? No, they showed us concretely. If they wanted us to think Jack’s dad was alive we would have seen him.

Perhaps the references to Jack’s father are part of the cliffhanger aspect of the season finale? It seems to me that two references to Jack’s father-implying that he’s alive-are too juicy to chalk up to the producers confusing viewers with flash-forward/back questions. I’m not disagreeing with you entirely, hebrewhammer-the show usually gives us a visual to go by-but for the end of the season, they have to leave us with big questions!

John has never wanted to leave the Island, what explains this twist in your theory 6Xx?

John is told to stay because the island needs him. As said by walt and boone. If he completes the mission the island has for him then he is no longer needed. Like letting jacob free.

How do you know he will continue to work for the box company, did you know jack was going to get addicted to oxycodone or have a heavy dinking problem coming off the island.
