The first time I saw the episode with Desmond and Jack…Something about the statment stuck out at me, and at the time, a theory of such as that of time travel or being lost in time seemed to be less plausible than your standard idea. However, after the season 3 finale…I can only say that it now is clear as to why it stuck out at me. It is as if the island is a gateway or whole in the universe. This would fall in line with the Dharma Iniative. To be truthful, until recently, I didn’t know the true definition of Dharama, so I looked it up on the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary, and the definition read: “the basic principles of cosmic or individual existence”. Now, it comes back to the whole Valenzetti equation. The numbers pop up everywhere through out the seasons. The most obvious being Hurley’s use of them, but also Ana-Lucia and Jack’s seats on the plane…I think its in The Exodus episodes, as well as many other times I’m sure…However, one number that has poped up was to much is 16…Is it possible for that number to be special….Rousseau has been on the island for 16 years…and some others here and there…
Anyways, the evidence that supports this claim is that in Jack’s flashback…or forward…but i think it was more, sideways? I believe that what we were seeing was an alternate dimension so-to-speak. This is because kate and jack spole of the island, and obviously kate ended up with Sawyer in that scenario. Also, Jack was arguing with the chief of surgery and said “If you go down the hallway, and my DAD is drunker than I am, then you can fire me.”…This implies that he is alive, or the Oxy that Jack was on really really messed him up. It is very very possible I supose that that was the case…Anyways, maybe the producers are going for an even more ‘out there’ story line…or maybe they are bringing it in a little. Anyways, take this for what it is…a thought, no more, no less. However, as it would seem in the world of ‘Lost’…It makes Desmond little statement echo a bit louder. So, See you in another life, brother.

Agreed Andrew.. after last nights episode..and given the fact that Desmond has, on more than one occasion, made the statement “see you in another life brotha”.. it’s getting harder and harder (for me anyway) to ignore the possibility that alot of questions surrounding Lost will be explained by some sort alternate timeline/ parallell universe.. or a similar theory along these lines.
Agreed!
