i just want a question answered.. does anyone know what ben meant when he told jack that “history would repeat itself” ?

I think he meant when he killed off the entire DI and his father.
i know but how would it repeat?
He’s trying to convince Jack that if he calls the people on the boat everyone will die.
I think he meant that the losties might kill off the others, like the hostiles/others killed off the DI.
but why would ben say it then if he was going to be killed
lostislove: I don’t get what you don’t get. Ben said it because a massive purge has happened before and Ben was the one who initiated it. Now he sees essentially the same thing happening again, only this time he’s going to be a victim, not the murderer.
