The theory has been introduced that the reason why “future Jack” is so distraught about the death of the unknown person in the coffin is because he realized that all the people he saved from the island are now dying one by one.
So my idea is that maybe here (finally) is where the “death/killing” theme comes into play - maybe everybody who has “sinned/killed” while on the island will now pay for their sins once they get off the island. Which could also be the reason why so many of hour Losties killed people in the finale (Hugo, Sayid, Sawyer killed Friendly, Locke killed Naomi).
Just a theory - but that’s what this site is for :)
they are all dying one by one because they were supposed to. the world is correcting itself finally that they are back to normal society. they were suppose to stay on the island. and now that they are not there, then they must die. muah ha ha.
