Alright, first and foremost let me state this post is just for fun!! Allow me to begin by saying that I have been an avid supporter of any theory or person that went against time travel theories. I have personally rejected all ideas with this show based around any form or fashion of time travel. But…I do believe this website has “enlightened” me in a way. With all of you guys great theories out there….ive learned to tolerate the time travel aspect and have even somewhat embraced it. That being said….ive kinda caught on to something.
Now dont ask me for a reference because I cant remember where I saw this at but has anyone ever heard of a Time Sink? In theory, a Time Sink is a location of super increased energy that contains the ability to sustain time travel of sorts. Now suposedly a Sink is beneath the surface and almost always has something fascined (sp?) or built directly above it. Example, a freakin haunted monster infested island perhaps? That was a joke. Now, using a conduit (usally a material item) in conjuction with a beacon it is supposedly possible to tap into the time stream and allow one to travel time, but only in the past. There is no foward travel upon a Sink, except for travelling back from the past to the present. Now I know in reality, none of this is true, BUT in tv land, if we were to take the writers notion of pseudo-science…it is possible that a Time Sink could exist. That would explain alot. Like the weird freakin energy and abilities this island has. Also, it would correlate in with alot of peoples theories about the bodies in the caves actually being our losties (jack and kate or rose and bernie) and it also could explain that the losties had actually crashed on that island but were now reliving it. And that the “others” were the offspring of our losties (which is retarded I know). I just thought it would be kinda cool. Did anyone notice the smurk on Mikhails face when discussing the pylons with sayid. Sayid asked what they were and Mikhail smirked at him and said, “what do you think they are”? How cool would it be if he was saying that because Sayid actually made them! Once again r e t a r t e d i know!
Look, personally I dont buy any of this crap….nor do I really buy into the time travel as a whole. But it is cool to talk about and entertain I suppose. Thanks for humoring me on this.
i promise to never post another theory on time travel!! all of this was for fun. thanks!
:-)
haha yea but I could be totally WRONG…which this is haha. Thanks though. This was just for fun.
I don’t think we will see Doc. Brown cruising the jungle in his Delorean, but I do think that we will see more of the past/present/future being mixed together with their sequence altered. The island certainly has properties that casue its inhabitants to see things differently than they did in their off-island lives. I see no reason why this expanded awareness or altered viewpoint cannot include seeing time differently (not just visions of the future, but actually seeing/touching one’s own skeleton as it lays in a cave). I know that conventional wisdom would say that it is impossible to be physically standing next to your own dead body, but hey, it should also be impossible for Kate to be standing next to that damn horse.
