Did anyone else think it was weird that Locke threw a knife at Naomi when he had a gun in his hand?
Also, I thought Locke ‘wasnt a murderer’?
Why would he kill her so easily whe he could have just threatened her with the gun like he did to Jack?
We didnt actually see Locke throw the knife…..remember, Walt was a very accurate knife thrower in series 1.
Does anyone else think it could have been Walt? Whay would Walt want them to stay on the island? Are he and Michael now Others?

Locke said that he will kill anybody if he has to.. He had to kill Naomi, perhaps.
but why with the knife? and why could he not shoot jack?
Sawyers Other Woman - I agree I think Walt threw the knife. I don’t think Locke has got it in him to kill a person. We certainly have been led to believe that he can’t. Joe Locke says a lot of things doesn’t make them all so. It could be Walt it could be a manifestation of Walt its hard to say at the moment. Walt’s character is back to stay though so I would imagine it will all fit into place.
Nah why would walt get locke and then not use him and just throw the knife himslf
cos john cant kill someone??? it would of been much easier for john to shoot her. thats the main thing that makes me think it werent him
John seemed quite happy to kill Mickhail, the fact that he didn’t die doesn’t mean Locke didn’t try.
locke ddnt know exactly what would happen when he pushed him thru the fence…..
I think that Locke is not what he seems.. His actions speak louder than words.. He is fully capable of murder and has done so numerous times. He sees himself a warrior and if the island needs it to be done he will do it without a second thought. His whole allegance is to the island and he is not concerned about his own Karma. He is not a farmer ––—He is a hunter!!!!!!!!!
You do bring up some good points.
@ Tharde5 - Locke has killed his share of boars, but I can’t recall him killing anyone outright other than Naomi on or off the island. So unless I missed something, “numerous” when it comes to humans seems inaccurate.
@Katrina - I agree. We are at least lead to believe that Locke threw the knife based on his stance and so I don’t believe it was Walt. i think Walt was a smokey/Jacob vision.
@Sawyer’s - John did say to Sawyer, “I am not a murderer”. But I agree with tharde5 in that Locke will now do anything to stay and protect the island (except kill Jack :)
Other thoughts…
Maybe he just used the knife because it was handy, he was saving ammo, or he was showing off :)
Maybe he killed Naomi so that there would be strife between the rescuers and our Losties?
When Jack answered the sat phone, he never answered Minkowski’s question about Naomi being ok.
Read about Minkowski on Lostpedia.
Good discussion all.
or maybe he threw the knife because Naomi is not going to remain dead. Maybe Locke felt that the healing element of the island would more than likely save a knife throw to a non vital part of the body as oppossed to a gunshot wound which could do irreversible injury=death. Also, it is very plausible that Locke threw the knife simply for effect of his persona as an “other” type character similar to Jacob…in some small measure a gun does represent a form of technology over the usage of a knife which is more basic and savage……sends a message to those willing to understand ……John is fully immerssed into the island savagery……and anomi may have a chance to survive indicating is motive was not to kill…only maim
Great points admantiumx.
Some people definitely have a way of overcoming some serious injuries on the island, but others don’t and it makes me wonder if the island or Jacob is selective in who lives and dies.

i agree…
A good point - I think it was Jacob impersonating Walt hence using the knife as Jacob hates technology

Surely by saying Walt is here would be enough to startle everyone, but it wasn’t Walt but Jacob/smoky
If we can assume/theorize that it wasn’t the real Walt that helped Locke out of the pit, why can’t we assume/theorize that it wasn’t the real Locke that killed Naomi?
