On another Island somewhat close by there is a runway. Ben wante the sub blown up, so they had to start clearing rocks on the Island so planes could land there directly.

There was no need for Cindy to stay with the tail section once they were going to the beach….Libby was with Jack’s group - Libby was an “other”.

There is no time travel….Ben wanted certain people brought to the Island and “the others” did what ever it took to get them there. I believe that Jack was “grabbed” by the others and brainwashed into believing his dad was dead because the others needed him to get him on that plane. That is why the coffin on the Island was empty, and in the Flash forward Jack’s dad was…alive.

I believe that “the others/Ben”, were doing experiments off of the island as well as on it. Hurley saw “Dave” in the mental institution - Libby was there watching….but real quick to tell Hurley she hadn’t met him before when he said she looked familiar. We have Jack, the “miracle worker”….or was Sarah just an “other” off island experiment?

Somewhere along the way, some of our losties were brainwashed, and probably “experimented” on too. I don’t think they were completely, brainwashed….just given “false memories”. Many of our losties are special…..is Walt’s mom really dead? Or did Brian just need/want to get Walt to the Island? Claire was just a freaked out pregnant girl….was she brainwashed or just freaked out?

As we saw, Ben uses pictures and drugs to brainwash.

For example: One of the people they wanted on that flight was Kate. They used their horse made their little brainwash vidio — they even had Ray Mullins with a prosthetic arm (now - how funny, didn’t one of the guys in the orientation films have a fake arm?) They probably just ran Kate off the road, and took her…..of course she had to have sort of memory for why she was where she was. So they brain washed her, and let her wake up all groggy, and off to the airport she goes….of course the marshal goes too - (same brainwash tape at the end…right?) The horse was really on the Island - Ben and the others had pictures of it when they brainwashed Kate. Cassidy is in Sawyers flashbacks and Kates. So….was Cassidy an “other” and simply someone used as a “prop”.? Did Sawyer really sleep with Hurleys lottery lady….or was the lottery lady just used in Sawyers brainwashing vidio? Did Ben choose our losties because of their “family issues” or did he brainwash those images into their minds. (part of the experiment)?

Charlie - an addict trapped on an Island with statues full of heroin. And it seems they messed up one of their brainwashing sessions because Charlie and his brother both had on the same ring at one point……HMMM - guess that was an old picture of Liam…….?

Hurley’s hot air balloon was on the Island too….but Hurley’s hot air balloon was probably never in the real world and he probably didn’t win the lottery - Just props. Nice Virgin Mary statues!! I think someone had a point a few days ago about the plane…. There was something not right about the plane and Eko was going to figure it out. It is possible that Boone did too.

I could easily go on with the cross overs, but I think the brainwashing tapes were made and it was not the intention of the others/Ben to have them end up anywhere near each other and they were not very carefull.

So then…Des doesn’t get to the button quick enough and the plane goes boom.

Ben sent Ethan and Goodwin to find out who lived and who died and to get their surviving others and any of the children that did not have parents (because they would be safer with Ben and his group).

Ben’s biggest problem was that the losties were probably supposed to be kept on the other Island - or for all we know they were supposed to be flown to Penny’s dad, but only some of them were supposed to be left with Ben….the plane crashed, and that really messed things up…Ben got stuck with more then he could handle…a group of people, (Kate, Sawyer, Hurley, Jack….) who had been brain washed and should have been on the other Island - then he had to figure out who was who etc.

Poor Desmond - they did a great job on him……Libby gave him a boat, and he ends up LOST and pushing the button but, someone needed that button pushed and it wasn’t Ben…..that of course leads us to who was dropping supplies and who sent Naomi.

Penny’s dad thought Dez would be a great candidate to be lost on an Island…..After all, he did really well with his experimental stay at the monistary…..who better to stay in a closed isolated space….a fired monk.

Poor Des and Penny fell in love. So for honer…he goes on the sailboat that LIBBY gave him.

Desmond probably got out of the hatch one day and needed a good brainwashing session to convince him that “his job was to push the button…”forget your old life” then when the hatch imploded his “real memory” came through or - even worse - he doesn’t even have all of his real memory yet and it is simply two brainwashing sessions….one that got him onto the Island, via LIBBY, and one they had to redo because he ran out of the hatch and they had to “remind him”

Someone was making food drops…It is likely that Penny’s dad was involved, and was probably supplying the food drops like I said - that is why he sent Des to push the button……but something made him suspicious (Locke blowing up Mikails hut, no more numbers……) so he hires Naomi’s company. When Des and the boys find her, she doesn’t really know what is going on……BUT……whoever sent her may have described someone like Mikail….the one eyed man…..sooooooo she is not alone….. Of course Penny’s dad has told Naomi as little as possible - just gave her a picture of Desmond and described a few of the people he knew were there..

It is hard to say how many “others” were on the plane when it crashed, but my guess is that Cindy and Libby were others…..

Of course the Island is a very special Island, but Ben has neglected their real purpose.

That is a whole other story……

Someone said in an earlier post that there really is only one answer…and if there is no time travel involved….our losties have been used and abused……
