Going to be careful after my last post. Read my last theory, Smoky Killed Naomi before this.

I think Smoky is Jacob mainly because on the last episodes when John was shot, Ben said that lets hope Jacob helps you now - Along comes Walt just as John was about to shoot himself but there were voices and a dark shadow just before Walt appeared. If Jacob isn’t Smoky then he definitely controls Smoky (cerebus maybe).

So when Walt said we’ve got work to do they headed off to Kill Naomi. Now I believe that Smoky couldn’t appear as Walt to the group mainly because Naomi was there - remember that Smoky feeds of peoples memories and then presents himself to them in that form (e.g Dave, Hurley - Jack and his dad, Kate and the Horse though Sawyer was there but I guess he could have seen a black horse before) He’s never presented himself to more than 2 people at once except when he’s been the black smoke. He can also influence peoples dreams.

If the Walt smoky had shown up I believe that Naomi would have seen the black smoke standing next to Walt while everyone else would have seen Walt as they had seen Walt before, whilst Naomi hasn’t so smoky wouldn’t be able to feed of her memory.

We have got to remember that Jacob and smoky can be invisible (in the cabin) as well like when the trees have been ripped up and so I think he definitely killed Naomi as he is a shape shifting Chameleon - the reason being that he didn’t want either the losties to leave or anyone else to find the island (Islands defence mechanism) and he had a future flash that this would happen.

Also it is possible that Smoky/Jacob can possess bodies. I say this because when the coffin was empty and Jack saw his dad the body has never been seen again - Also Ecko’s brothers body went missing and was seen later talking to Ecko.

It didn’t show you Ben’s face which I think is important. This could lead me to think that Jacob needs to feed of people’s thoughts, minds and bodies in order to survive and thats why he doesn’t want anyone to leave.

I said before that I beleive that Jacob was subject to a huge dose of Electro magnetism and is trying to get back to his body - he may have been involved in an experiment that went wrong - I think John Locke is the answer to this and Jacob/smoky has seen this in a future Vision - It would also make sense that Jacob is seen as a great person because he has future seeing and past seeing abilities and can ‘save’ people from death, just like Desmond can. He may have been able to see so far into the future and found the cure for cancer.

The big mystery is the sounds that Smoky makes - all I can think that these are the sounds that were around Jacob/smoky just before he was vapourised by the electromagnetism - he sees in to peoples past and we see and hear the last memory of him where he would have been surrounded by machinery etc etc?

My guess that Jacob/Smoky is good and just wants his life back but also may need to get his body back to save the world!
