LOST-Theories.com

I’ve based this on a few theories like the Gedanken experiment and JazProf’s one on time.

Ben Killed his father because he knew if he did he would become immortal and not age like Richard. Richard doesn’t age because he is an original member of the island when the ‘meteor’ or ‘force’ was created, making a timeless zone.

Now Ben has come to the island with his dad. If he kills his dad then he won’t exist as JazProf has suggested everyting that happens on the island affects the world. e.g. John can walk because his father is dead - his dad pushing him off the island didn’t happen - but also this makes him immortal now and he can join the others.

I don’t think Ben or Locke can ever leave the island as they might die in the real world (see Gedanken theory). Richard can leave the island because he was there when the force was created as probably Jacob was.

Sorry man…but I dont agree with you. And John was walking before his father died. It sounds like you had a quick thought on this one and jumped up and posted it. I read some of your other theories and they are way better than this one.

Yup, doesn’t make sense. You say since John’s dad is dead that is the reason he can walk. So logically, if Ben’s dad is dead then that should be the reason he’s never on the island to begin with. But, he clearly is.

Hey Mr. Alpert, thanks for the shout-out on my post. I think perhaps you didn’t give folks enough detail on what would lead to immortality for Ben or for Locke. If there is a kind of retrocausality—how would killing the father make one immortal?
