I want some Dharma Ice Cream…. anyone got a scoop?

— TheThinker

For those of you that haven’t done so already, I suggest you head over to DarkUFO and watch the new Station 6 “The Orchid” video… it is very interesting, and has lots to give us I think….

In the Q & A with the writers someone in the audience asked them, “What are the questions that we the viewers should be asking, but aren’t?” All of us on this site are asking all the ones that they indicated (Hooray us!) except for one, and I find that one pretty interesting…

Are Nicki and Paulo really dead?”

Any comments or theories on this one?

Another question that we have known the answer to for a while was are we going to get the rest of Libby’s story, the answer has been yes, we all knew that… but the interesting thing is that the writers were also asked if she was with Dharma and the answer was, “You’re not barking up the wrong tree” … so what does that tell us? Any thoughts all?

And in keeping up with the mysterious yet frugal information tidbits that we recieve, the story being fed to us is that the new Station 6 Orchid video was “Found” in Norway and leaked…. so what’s in Norway and what does that have to do with our story?

And one other thing that I found interesting from the Orchid video is when the doctor says not to let the two rabbits near each other…. why not? If the Kasimir Effect is about worm holes……. You know what, let me ask you all a question… could someone please explain the Kasimir effect in laymans terms, that would be greatly appreciated… (ProfO maybe? He seems to be our resident expert on everything…. how about it Prof? :> )

The video is gonna give us plenty to think about. I sure hope they were joking about Paulo and Nicki. Am hoping someone can give us a clear idea of the casimir effect. The doctor actually says something like,’the islands properties provide a casimir type effect’. Could the bunny have arrived somewhere before he appeared to leave the other space.(if you know what i mean).

I’ve been reading about Casimir effect and it’s really hard to understand, but i found out an interesting reference about it. In Stephen Hawking’s book “A brief history of time” he talks about Casimir Effect. He says: “In this way we have experimental evidence that space-time can be curved, and it can be curved in the necessary way to allow time travels (sustained by Casimir effect).” Surely these aren’t the exact words in the text, i found the text in spanish but a think is a good translation, maybe someone can check out the original text in english and correct me if i made a mistake. I also found out that in episode “Not in Portland” one of the Others is reading the book, and the book was seen on Ben’s kitchen table in “The man from Tallahassee”

    Great questions TT.

Here is a carbon copy of a reply I made to a previous similar post. It deals with my thoughts on the Casimir effect . Though I don’t try to explain how it works. I just speculate on the possible results.

The rabbit that appeared on the shelf might be in fact the same rabbit that the Dr. was holding. He says, “Don’t let them near eachother” which to me implies that something bad would happen.

So the rabbit isn’t a clone and it didn’t really time travel. It seems that a carbon copy of it more or less just appeared on the shelf much like Jack just appeared in the jungle.

This seems to fit in with the parallel universe theories and may explain why Naomi and Cooper say that everyone on flight 815 died. Perhaps they did.

The Dr. also asks his assistant when she set the “shift” which implies that they have some means of manipulating the island’s unique and natural properties.

But, maybe we should take all of this with a grain of salt. An entry in Lostpedia regarding the Orchid reads as follows:

Several points in the video met with laughter from the audience, leading to speculation that the video was intended as a parody rather than as a part of Lost canon. However, no official sources have indicated that this video was intended as self-parody, or that it is not to be interpreted as canon.’

Ah well, it sure is fun to speculate though!”

Actually, wtf., gallo, and Shamballa have not mislead anyone with their findings. The theory is difficult to interpret. What the “casimir effect”, pertains to in terms of Lost, is teleportation, and bi-location. These were aspects which were part of the Dharma studies. The fact that the good Dr. is holding bunny #15 in his hands and it inadvertantly appears on the shelf is proof of this. We must take a look at ALL of the other things which have been happening on “the island” to realize that this is the only logical conclusion.

    Thinker: Good observations!

Teleportation is an easy concept to grab… what interests me is Bi-Location…. could this be the explanation for the rest of the world thinking that 815 crashed and everyone died? Perhaps the plane WAS in both places, they both crashed, but the plane that we know made it to the island, the other did not?

Thinker: You’re right about teleportation being an easy concept to grab, however when you read the Casimir Effect, it has many different aspects to it, as folks have stated. It is a matter of finding which particular aspects fit in with the story of Lost. Teleportation and bi-location, do!

And to answer your question, yes, and it could be the reason why the “island” can’t be located because it’s actually in a different location than it appears. Similar to the Philadelphia Experiment and Montauk Project. It would answer why Walt appeared to Locke and Shannon when he physically wasn’t there. Also Kate’s horse, Sayid’s cat, Hurley’s friend Dave, appearing, etc. Also, think about Astral travelling.

hey just a thought .what if it is the same rabbit and if they come into contact with each other it will negate the existence of the original rabbit before it is put through the”wormhole” therefore causing a paradox.[im new to this please be gentle]

Good thoughts Thinker. Here’s my bit

As for Nikki and Paulo, honestly, they did nothing for me anyway so if they showed up alive or dead, I’m not that bothered! Harsh I know!

As for the Norway scenario, could it be possible that Penny and Portuguese posse were stationed outside of Norway rather than in the Arctic? Maybe Pennys’ search took her to Norway, where she found Hatch number 8? There she found the tape of the Dharma experiment and the rabbits, discovered what they were REALLY up to with Casimir effects etc and used that to locate the island?

Just passing by man, good post though +1 from me
