jack maybe is too sweet to be wholesome!!

I know we have touched on the Stephen King links to Lost previously with regards to Ben asking for a King book when he was captured and also Juliete reading a King book in the wee book club - there are also similiarities with Lost and The Dark Tower and also The 3rd Policeman - i just feel there are too many references for us to ignore the links between the two!! Which leads me onto my next points - maybe it’s nothing but i’ll hoist my flag up the pole and we’ll see who salutes!!

After watching The Shawshank Redemption (best film ever) - originally a short story by King called Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption - for about the 100th time i noticed a couple of things -

1 - Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins) at the end of the film visits (over-voiced by Morgan Freeman) nearly a dozen banks in portland that day and left town to nearly the tune of $108,000 - a coincidence???

2 - In another King book/film The Shining - the lead character (also Jack) starts of with good intentions with regards to running the Overlook Hotel (island from Lost) and taking charge/care of his family (Losties) - later though (pardon the pun) he “looses the plot” just like eventually our “good Shepard” will with becoming an alcoholic!!

Maybe this means nothing but if you have any positive comments on this matter let me know!!

Better than the post slagging Katrina off but still sh*t. your better off sticking to slagging people off at least you get a reaction that way. you and Steve should double team and form the TARD CLUB

Jesus, whats going on here. Come on guys lets play nice. no need for all this. I’m sure Katrina has forgoten about the post already, Hey Magpie I’m UK but have no beef with the US at all maybe you are on the wrong site watching the wrong show if you have such a complaint about the country.

Yeah TT I’m with you. The whole Magpie/Kat thing is old news now and there is no need for anyone to bring it up again.

Magpie I think you had some good thoughts here. I can’t comment on TSR because I’ve never seen it. Its one of those films I keep promising to watch but never do. What a loser I am! :-)

Another book that links Stephen King and Lost is ‘the Talisman’, where young Jack was able to travel to an alternate reality named the Territories. This is one of my favourite books and probably why I like lost so much.

Hahaha … lockeko. That would be hilarious, as King has a column in Entertainment Weekly wherein he often writes about what a big LOST fan he is.

Wouldn’t that just be the coolest thing if it was all supposed to be a book YOU wrote, and you were a die-hard fan of the show??? lol ~ but, I agree, I would be pissed if it turned out that way, even though I’d be happy for Stephen King that he got worked into one of his favorite shows.
