Kate, Claire & Baby, Rose and Sun are all at the tower when Jack makes the call. Minkowski on the phone call says he can get a fix on the location and they would be right there.

If the Freighter has more then 1 helicopter, Is it going to crash? If they send a boat, it will take time for them to actually meet up with Jack and his friends.

If a helicopter makes it, Jack, Kate, Claire, Rose and Sun will not want to be the first to take off in the helicopter -none of them are going to want to go without their significant others - Jack would want Claire to go first because of the baby, but she is going to want to wait for Charlie. But…..

If Desmond’s vision was correct, Claire and the baby will get on the helicopter…probably first…..of course she is going to want to wait for Charlie…but, if our losties tell Claire Charlie is dead then Claire would gladly get on the helicopter - If Charlie is alive, then Claire is going to want to wait for him…Did Charlie have to die to insure that Claire gets on the helicopter???? If it is bad for the losties to leave the Island, then Desmond’s visions are working against Locke and Ben….If Des wouldn’t have had his visions, Charlie would be dead, and the looking glass wouldn’t have been unjammed…….When Des saved Charlie, he went against what he was told by the shop lady……so Claire is not supposed to get on the helicopter……when is course correction going to fix this?

Evacuation wouldn’t be quick especially with them having to meet up with Sawyer & the other beach people (The walk to the tower took about a day) …If the Helicopter crashes then they either have to wait for the freighter to get a smaller boat to them……That would take some time……………………..The freighter is 80 miles off the Island….how big is the helicopter - or do they have to wait for a boat?

The losties left for the tower at night time on December 22. They get to the radio tower and deal with Ben etc. on December 23 - so our beach guys and our losties have to meet up…it would take another day..so we are at about the 24th. The revelation of not Naomi’s boat may not matter because a Tsunami could be coming…December 26…AM.

So it seems that if a Tsunami comes some of the losties will have been evacuated and some of them left on the Island….and according to news accounts the Tsunami that occurred on December 26th did overturn Freighters….. actually washed one up into some foot hills……

So….does Claire get on the helicopter? Does the revelation of “not Naomi’s boat” change things? Does a Tsunami stop the evacuation?

Thought provoking certainly but I think you are wrong about the tsunami element. Surely that would be too distasteful not to mention disrespectful. I don’t think they would even consider it.

Your point about the evacuation is interesting though. It WOULD take them a day or so to get everyone accounted for and on the boat even if they didn’t meet with resistance so surely that offers ample time for Desmond to catch up with the beach crew. They can then radio Jack to warn him.

the tsunami would be a golden goose for lindeloff and cuse to expain away how a seemingly infallable rescue mission could thwarted and it coincide perfectly with the factual tsunami, giving the storyline more crediblity.

I’ve often thought the tsunami could be involved - but some people say the Losties are in the wrong ocean. The tsunami hit the Indian Ocean, not the Pacific, but that’s exactly where the island MAY be.
