You can run away from your problem, when the problem isn’t you.

— Katydid

How can you escape ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’ at this time of year? It’s one of my favourite movies because who doesn’t sometimes wonder what it would be like if they were never born? Or at least wish they could see their effect on those around them…kind of like going to your own funeral.

To me it’s a similar theme in Lost. Who doesn’t occasionally wonder what it would be like to just walk away from it all. Our Losties are having this experience, their other lives are presumably going on without them.

Think of it like ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’ but inside out. They get to see what their lives would be like without the other people in them. And they all seem to be rising to the challenge. A good friend of mine likes to say that you most certainly can run away from your problems…..when the problem isn’t you.

So that’s it, short, easy to read, just a thought about the universal appeal of getting away from it all.

Enjoy - Merry Christmas to all and a Season 4 New Year!

So true katydid. The show has been one constant ‘distraction’ after another. Your theory makes me think of Bernard doing ‘what needed to be done’ yet very little interest in making the SOS sign, which needed to be done. The survivors are engaged in adapting to the surroundings and willfully so, with little regard for rescue.

A Merry Christmas to you as well!
