Actually the most revealing evidence happens in 2 episodes:
the first one is in the first season. Its where Jack finds these 2 decayed bodies with the decomposed clothing. Inside the breast pocket of one of the bodies is the backgammon marbles that Locke carries around. That dead body was in fact Locke but at a future time.
The second is in the 3rd season when Desmond doesn’t press the button and the Hatch gets destroyed. During that time, Desmond gets sent into the past and has a chance not to go back to the island. People on the island don’t actually die when the die since it is possible for “the others” to just keep going back in time and fixing what has happened to suit their needs.

The people have actually travelled into the future. The future population was destroyed by a sickness that killed pregnant women and their children therefore the population was destroyed. This time transportation device was created in the future and “the others” went back in time to find the best doctors and scientists that could help the population fix itself.
That’s why Juliette was able to see her sister on a video but can’t speak to her. All the footage has technically already happened by that time. In fact, that is why the island is able to get whatever it wants because the others can just go back in time and find stuff and bring it to them.
Hmmm…I like it. A little disjointed, but I think I get what you are saying. Another point of reference could be Mikhail. He does not actually come back to life. A message is sent to Mikhail before going to the past (from the past where he will be) and he is able to avoid his own death, and it appears to us that he comes back to life.
But… then wouldn’t everyone forget that Mikhail ever was killed? If he altered the past to make sure it didn’t happen, I mean? And them Ben wouldn’t have asked him why he wasn’t dead?
I appreciate the effort, linuss, but it leaves a lot of questions. (I mean, other than the ones I asked Joe. :-)
linuss: I’ve wondered the same thing! But as usual, Prof poses some good questions. Let me think about this; it’s an idea worth entertaining…
pg, don’t waste your time. There is insufficient evidence to support any of this theory. first point, no time machine. Second point, no evidence the body was locke. Third point, if it was locke, it would mean the losties are in the future not in the past. sorry but no go.
Why would you back in time to a period when technology was inferior to the present? The scientists of the the day would have the most state of the art equipment and knowledge base. Going back in time would be a step backwards.
Unless…the person they went back for HAD the solution, but no one belived them, or something happened to them in the future so they went back to try and save them (and change their destiny). Unfortunately, I don’t think this is what is going on.
Welcome back NJ
shatau, you think this guy is jersey. I guess we’ll have to wait and see if he refers to his critics by refering to them as “Hurley’s Junk”
LMAO! “shatau” I love it.
ahhh, did i get sucked in?
linuss: Welcome. I know or hope this is your first theory, so all I can say is next time you post a theory it would help if 1) you backed it up with some reasons why you believe in it and 2) be available to answer the questions posed to you about the theory.
You can’t just post and run. You have to stick around to explain, that’s what makes a good discussion.
Better luck next time.
Annie: you said “You can’t just post and run”.
Now an appropriate answer from linuss would be “don’t tell me what I can’t do!” :)
xiv: lol It certainly would have been!!!!
Sorry, I never came back to read the posts.
Prof, most people who like the time travel theory (I don’t really in the traditional Back to the Future way), think the island is some sort of time bubble. In my Mikail theory above I am assuming that inside of the bubble you don’t have a supposed alternate future (like BTF 2) , but everyone remembers the old future (sort of like Aston Kutcher’s character in Butterfly Effect) and can notice the changes.
I am not saying I believe it. It is just an idea I wanted to throw out there.
I still stand behind my +1. :) I want to encourage the newbies to keep trying so that they can get better at theorizing.
I forgot. If he/she is just posting and running, then I regret my +1. :)
I think I’ve just coined a new phrase “post and run”! Should I get i patented??
Yes. Do it now or I will…I’ll make t-shirts. :)
joe: ok “post and run” TM must be used from now on, the t-shirts are a great idea!!
Can you teleport a sample?
I can bi-locate one.
Good enough, joe. I’m waiting.
Crap, someone blew up the Orchid! Sorry Annie. That is what I get for bring John Locke with me, I guess.
Joe: You didn’t have the t shirts with you, did you????
annie, when Joe bilocated the shirts, they came through with only one arm hole. So, who could use those?
One step ahead of you, lock. Marvin and I are shooting the next orientation video right now.
Planning got boring again….but I did find the NASA video clip I was looking for!
