i just thought that in the last episode of season 2, when two spanish or whoever guys notice the electromagnetic anomaly, one of them says something like “we’ve lost it again as it was once already”.
I think the last time that they mean was when Penny communicated with Charlie in the Looking glass. And there she lost the signal because Mikhail dropped the bomb into the room. It means that the flashback from the end of the second season was the flashforward actually. What do you think? Sorry for bad English, i’m from Russia :-)

Okay I’m not being rude here at all but this was kind of hard to decipher. Not your fault at all. I think what you’re saying is that the end of S2 the Penny bit actually happens before the communication with Charlie in S3? I think what they actually said is that they ‘FOUND’ it again, implying that it had been visible once before.
Im with the Mrs. I think you got your timeline mixed up… On the blast door map, in the swan hatch was a notation about an anomaly/occurence, I think that is the “Again” that the two Portugese men were referring to.
They spoke Portuguese and were stationed at what appeared to be an arctic station.
Maybe the one “they missed” was Desmond’s first screw up. The Swan’s implosion was the second and they nailed it.
Shamballa’s right…but makes you wonder how long those 2 dudes have been there…what if it was longer?
Longer than?
While I agree with you guys that this is probably not a realistic theory, it wasn’t as bad as some I have read lately. But as with the last theory it is just speculation without evidence. We need a new flag.
That was an arctic listening station? The men were playing chess when the alarm sounded and a message on the screen said Electromagnetic Anomaly Detected with the numbers 7418880. Then Mathias made a phone call to Penny Widmore and said I think we found it!! 4x8x15x16x23x42 = 7418880. And it seems that if Mathias is not Jack then maybe he is the Evil twin! Pure speculation of course. courtesy of http://www.lostpedia/wiki/Mathias
