A lot of you know this already, but bare with me:
Do you guys remember Carl told Sawyer and Kate that he named constellations with Alex? They named one - Ursa Theodore? (Teddy). Well, the real constellation that they could be referring to is Ursa Major: Which means Great Bear.
I noticed that inside the constellation is a Spiral Galaxy which is called a “Messier”. The Messier is “M108”. I thought that was interesting- 108! However it probably doesn’t mean anything….any ideas?

well, I really expected this to suck, then I didn’t understand it, so I read it again, and decided that since some of my friends like this theory and some don’t, I will have to agree with my friends.
and this proves. some people. have no voice. (^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^) so they just insult theories instead.
actually I gave +1 to this theory b/c i think it is something the writers would go for, however some people don’t have a sense of humor at all.
PG can you expound on how Messier and M108 are connected. sorry I know nothing about astronomy, what does M108 mean?

Nice Paintgirl. In my opinion, it’s evidence that the writer’s have people on staff going out and finding any tidbit of trivia that relates back to the numbers to reinforce the overarching theme of synchronicity +1 from me though
Another one, kinda/sorta like this, is the play on words using the name of an inventor of a satellite to create Alvar Hanso. Ironically, the satellite (I forget its name - Shamballa might remember) circles the earth looking for magnetic anamolies every 108 minutes.
If anyone has info on that, can they please post a link to it here, I can’t find it.

And I know it’s usually at the expense of others……..so hey, I’m OK with it being me this time! Your bluntness is humorous. It’s funny because you say what everyone else is thinking…. Now to answer your questions: “Messier” just means “Spiral Galaxy”. There are A LOT of Spiral Galaxies so they number them. So the “M” is just short for “Messier”. So they are listed as such: M1, M2, M3……M107, M108…etc. It’s a galaxy labeling system.
Anyway, I had recently watched the episode that Carl talked about the Ursa Major Constellation so I researched it to see if I could find anything “Lost” related. Then I noticed the “M108” located INSIDE Ursa Major. With 108 being a Lost number; I thought that was significant enough. So I just decided to share it with you all.

OK PG, I was only worried about the theory from the title, I figured it was by someone else. Had I paid attention to who wrote the theory before commenting I would have known it would be brilliant.
