Kate and Sawyer mated on a different island
While reading the theory “nothing is coinedence” tharde5, just made me realize that Kate and Sawyer were on a different island when they mated. Maybe that’s the experiment and why they were placed in that situation. As tharde 5 pointed out, maybe going to the that island was the closest thing next to going back to the real world to try to test that hypothesis If I were the scientist I would be pissed that the subjects might have screwed up my experiment by mating again on the regular island. But as tharde5 pointed out in the discussion in “nothing is coincedence” maybe they were able to preg test Kate early? Maybe that is why Juliette told Sayid that if I told you what I knew, you would kill me because she is potentially sacrificing Kate for the experiment.
That’s a good point. Of course, I think one reason they were thrown together was to get at Jack, but I can easily go along with the idea that it wasn’t the only reason. Do you think this has something to do with Ben asking Kate questions that seemed to want to get at who she preferred? (You know, when they were having breakfast on the beach… er… it was breakfast, right?)
I think katrina might have touched on something along these lines also.

You’re right, I’d be angry that the expirement had been jepardized (sorry bad speller) by mating on a differnet Island!
Thanks for mention shell.. wow great point Prof.. The whole situation smells like a setup and asking Kate who she preferred might make Ben feel like he was really doing the right thing by giving her a choice of the two… But I think that Ben brought Jack for another reason and that Sawyer was the one that was ment to be Kates baby daddy

If Kate is in fact prego.. then the some very strong conclusions could be made.. of course all of this nothing if she isnt!
Katrina, i’ve been thinking the exact same thing…that Juliet may be pregnant. Could be that, on top of all the other reasons, is why she wants off the island so badly…Like you said, why else show the scene between her and Goodwin? Nice post Shell:)
Also, I heard that those Dharma initiative condoms break really easily…
I would also throw out the idea that maybe we don’t know the real reason Claire was kidnapped. After all, you have to assume the Others know she is Christian’s daughter.
And that HAS to count for something.
I really don’t think that mating on a “the other island” would make any difference in the outcome of a pregnancy between Kate and Sawyer! I do think it’s possible Juliette could be pregnant though.
