Parallel universes are under scientific scrutiny even more so today than ever before. Especially since Hawking himself came out and state that there was a distinct possibility that the multiverse phenomenon could help explain the theory of everything.

The theory of everything would explain the physical world we see and the quantum world that we can not see, but exist at the smallest level. It is so fascinating that these quantum particles behave so strangely: occupying to places at once in time and space thus creating multiple possibile realities.

Can people travel back and forth between these realities or control the destiny of their reality? Perhaps the island is not located in our space/time but pulls people into its existance by the electromagnet. The plane was pulled into another existence in which the others are aware of their enlightment and ability to manipulate their reality.

The others are placing the destined losties in circumstances to face their other lives’ faults and to evolve into masters of their fate. Leaving their worldly possessions and rising above their bodies of matter. Is that what places them on the list old patch eye spoke of? After Jack accepted his fate to lead and place others before himself was he chosen to join the enlighted others?

We have to assume that the flashbacks we see are to help us and the losties understand their situation. I feel like we need to assume that the others all have access to the flashback and past information about the losties, which is why each of the losties is placed in present situation that makes them confront their past “sins”.

Once the losties accept that their destiny is within their reach and control they will be free of the island or is it that they become one with the island? Was Walt so special that he already had this ability and has moved on to another reality and the others will follow?

Just some thoughts.
